What is AirMedic® USB?
AirMedic® USB is a powerful, easy-to-use and affordable USB-based spectrum analysis tool that brings Wi-Fi troubleshooting to entry-level users.

Do I need the USB Spectrum Adapter to perform spectrum analysis?
Yes. The AirMagnet Spectrum Adapter (USB) must be inserted in your Microsoft OS-based PC or Apple MacBook Pro to perform spectrum analysis.

What Wi-Fi bands can AirMedic scan?
AirMedic provides clear visibility into all Wi-Fi bands: 2.4 GHz, 4.9 Ghz and 5 GHz

What Operating Systems are supported?
Refer to the "System Requirements" section on the product web-page for a list of all supported Operating Systems.

Do I need to connect an external antenna to the USB spectrum adapter?
The Spectrum USB adapter has an internal antenna built into it. The user also has the option to connect the external omni-directional antenna included in the AirMedic USB package or the optionally purchased external directional antenna.

Which spectrum graphs are available in AirMedic USB?

Which Wi-Fi charts are available in AirMedic USB?

Which Wi-Fi adapters are supported for the additional Wi-Fi analysis (Wi-Fi charts listed above) built into AirMedic USB?
AirMedic USB offers additional Wi-Fi analysis features using any Wi-Fi adapter connected to/built-into your computer, in addition to the spectrum features supported by the AirMagnet Spectrum USB adapter. This does NOT remove the requirement for an AirMagnet Spectrum USB adapter, without which the AirMedic USB software will not work.
Important note:
1. Any Wi-Fi adapter supported with Windows OS and MacBook Pro running Boot Camp®
2. Only USB adapters supported with MacBook Pro running Parallels Desktop® or VMware Fusion®

Can I save the spectrum trace file for future reference?
Yes. You can save their RF spectrum scans, retain it as hard evidence and play it back at a later time for post-capture investigation and analysis. AirMedic USB's Instant Replay feature also allows you to review the most recent spectrum information and play it back, as if it were being viewed live for the first time.

Will I be able to upgrade to AirMagnet Spectrum XT?
Yes. You will have the option to upgrade to the industry's only USB based professional spectrum analyzer.

Can I save spectrum capture files in AirMedic USB and open it in AirMagnet Spectrum XT and vice versa?
Yes. You can open the capture files saved by either application in AirMedic USB and Spectrum XT.
