Dynamic routing: Support for OSPF, RIPv2 and BGP combined with full 802.1Q VLAN support is provided for both L2/L3, so that all services can be enabled without interfering with the existing routing or VLAN architecture.

Virtual Wire: Virtual Wire provides organizations with a true transparent mode by logically binding two ports together and passing all traffic to the other port without any switching or routing. Full inspection and control or all traffic is enabled with no impact on the surrounding devices. Multiple Virtual Wire pairs can be configured to support multiple network segments.

NetConnect fully integrates with App-ID, User-ID and Content-ID, enabling full control and inspection of application activity, based on users and groups. NetConnect client support includes Windows 7, Vista, Windows XP and Mac OSX 10.5 and 10.6.

Standards-based IPSec VPN connectivity combined with application visibility and control enables protected communications between two or more Palo Alto Networks devices or another vendor's IPSec VPN device.
